Digital Video Recorders and Network Video Recorders and Storage
Storage and viewing options for CCTV footage from your security cameras
CCTV systems and security cameras have improved in size, quality and value since their earlier inception. With DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) or NVRs (Network Video Recorders) replacing video tape systems, it makes recording and viewing footage within your CCTV systems more reliable and easier to record and store. NVRs and DVRs have the same job of saving and storing surveillance videos, but they are designed to work with different types of cameras. Both NVRs and DVRs come in form factors—standalone appliance, a tower server, or a rackmount server.
VIDEO RECORDERS
When a CCTV camera spots something of interest, a recorder ensures you can go back and view it later. You can set up your cameras to record everything they capture, but that takes up a lot of storage space. For this reason, you may want to program your cameras to record only during certain times of the day or when they detect movement. Your video recording options include DVR and NVR.
DVRs (Digital Video Recorder) – Used to record standard analog, HD-CVI, or HD-SDI cameras. These are not interchangeable from one type to the next, so you’ll have to specifically identify whether it’s standard analog, HD-CVI, or HD-SDI. Hybrid DVRs will also be identified with the DVR acronym but can also record video from IP cameras (these are more easily identifiable). Read…………… (link to DVR Page)

In Summary – DVR vs. NVR System
Both systems record video data and are reliable. Although in the past the video quality of DVR systems lagged behind comparable NVR systems, today this gap is significantly lessened. The difference between DVR and NVR systems come down to the cost, how the data is transmitted, and type of cameras. NVR systems tend to have better picture quality, as well as easier installation, increased flexibility, and native support for audio on every camera that has a microphone. However, NVR systems also tend to be quite a bit more expensive than comparable DVR systems, which is an important consideration for the budget conscious consumer. For people looking for a relatively straightforward security system, a DVR system will most likely be sufficient, especially if your property is already wired for a coaxial cable from an existing security system. If you need a top of the line, very flexible solution, an NVR based system will be best. At the end of the day, the deciding factor will be based on the specific security needs of your property.
Video Storage
After processing the video, there are a few options available for storing your footage. Network storage devices, including personal cloud and network-attached storage (NAS), connect to a large network, allowing more than one device to upload and store both videos and files.
Personal cloud storage servers allow you and your family members to upload and share videos and files. Some servers offer remote options and apps on your phone that allow you to upload on the go from different mobile devices and gaming consoles.
NAS enclosures provide hard drive space for your home or office and include storage up to 256 TB. These can have more than one hard drive, so there’s more than enough capacity to store and stream information from more than one person at a time.
A Digital Video Surveillance system consists of an appliance that enables embedded image capture capabilities, which in turn, allows video images or extracted information to be compressed, stored, or transmitted over communication networks or digital data links.
The video surveillance system supports today’s demanding video surveillance, including the latest 4K high-definition video and Intelligent Video applications. Security departments are required to provide a higher level of security than before: proactive prevention, better situational awareness, earlier detection, quicker identification and prompter action. A solution with clear identification and intelligent assistance to enable security personnel to quickly detect and identify suspicious people and objects to ensure a safe and secure environment is needed. Furthermore, video surveillance is incorporating a new trend of Business Intelligence (BI) that utilizes video to improve business including marketing, store operations and more. The advanced video surveillance system provides a solution for meeting these challenges through reliable, flexible, scalable and cost-effective products and services. we can help you:

NVR System for IP Camera Systems
NVR is two Type Standalone Recorder or Server based one. The Network Video Recorder includes a computer with special video recording and management software. This is a complete system, that includes everything you need to record the video from IP cameras on your network. Choosing Stand alone or Server based depends on the usage. For Domestic and a smaller number of Cameras it is better to go for Stand alone. Much economic then Server Grade one.
Global e Solutions has a very large number of NVR choices. The servers support up to 128 cameras or more. There are also a number of hybrid NVRs available that support both analog and IP cameras.
Benefits: This is a flexible system that allows for expansion. You can select systems that support 4 cameras, 8 Cameras, 16 cameras or up to 128 cameras. Video Management Software has many functions and features that make it a very powerful tool. The server runs on a Windows or Linux platform. You can add camera licenses and storage to these flexible NVRs. Multiple servers can work together to create an IP camera system with thousands of cameras (City Surveillance or Commercial Projects used such systems).
These NVRs work very well with the manufacturer’s cameras, and also support cameras that conform to the latest OnVIF standards. They are lower-cost solutions that are best used with the specific manufacturer’s cameras. For example, if you are using Honeywell (Red Series or Black Series) cameras, you can select NVR systems from Honeywell that support from 4 cameras to 128 cameras.

Video and surveillance HDDs support video streaming firmware designed and built for write performance. … On the other hand, surveillance HDDs are built to record data 24×7 from multiple camera streams or channels
There are plenty of storage drives available for different usage, but primarily users get confused which one to choose. The difference lies in the engineering of the drive, so while choosing any you need to understand your usage. Surveillance is one of the segments where most of the time normal hard drives being used. However, there are surveillance drives available with a little price difference, but performance is far better.
Surveillance HDD especially designed for CCTV setup. It looks similar to other drives and has differences only with optimizations and features which are developed for surveillance. You can easily connect the drive as like other HDDs in the DVR of your surveillance setup.
Benefits of Surveillance Drives
High-Write Workloads: PC drives are engineered for storage and perform read and write as well as data transfer capability, while the surveillance drives are tuned for 90% of its time (24x7x365 days) for recording video and 10% for reviewing and playing back data.
Video and surveillance HDDs support video streaming firmware designed and built for write performance. These come with enhanced write functionality that ensures first-rate performance and better drive durability for DVR, media centre or video security applications. The surveillance HDDs firmware is custom built for streaming videos – captures every pixel while streaming HD videos.
Reliability: Normal PC HDDs doesn’t come with the ability to withstand always-on operational demands and not include the application specific features necessary to handle surveillance environments. On the other hand, surveillance HDDs are built to record data 24×7 from multiple camera streams or channels.
Low-power profile: Video and surveillance HDDs offers low-power profiles, which not only help with energy conservation but also ensure cool operating temperatures and enhanced system reliability while working a 24×7 profile.
Cost: Cost plays an important role, as video drives are engineered for surveillance environments so you might think, it will cost higher. Actually, only a few bucks difference is there in the price of similar capability desktop HDD and surveillance drive.
